1. How Many Degrees Is Considered Safe? Plastic Lunch Box Heat Resistance Standard, You Understand?
Many people think that the plastic take-out container can be used to fill the meal, and it must be able to be put in the microwave. In fact, not. To know really safe microwave microwavable take-out food containers, must have to meet some standards.
All Countries Have Regulations on the Heating of Food Containers
The FDA and the European Union (EU) have clearly defined which plastics can be heated and to what degree. If the temperature is exceeded, the plastic may release harmful substances, which are not good for health.
How Is the Test Done?
Generally through several experiments will be conducted: such as testing the lunch box in high temperatures, to see if it will be deformed; or repeated heating and freezing a few times, to see if the lunch box is still able to maintain its original shape; it will also be tested is not a hazardous ingredient to run out.
What Is Considered “safe Heat Resistance”?
Simply put, in order for a food container to be considered microwavable take-out food containers, it must: at least be able to withstand temperatures of more than 100 ℃; not be deformed, not soften; not release harmful chemical compositions to the body.
3. How to Choose the Right Food Containers According to Customer Needs? Scene + Material Matching Is the Most Important
When customers buy microwavable take-out food containers, besides caring about the price, they are more concerned about whether the material is reliable or not, and whether it is safe to use. Different scenes, in fact, the recommendation is different.
Do You Want to Heat Up the Take-Out Food? PP Is the Right Choice
If the customer is doing hot food takeout, PP material is directly recommended. It can withstand high temperatures, microwaves without deformation, which is the true meaning of a safe microwave lunch box.
PET Is More Suitable for Cold Food or Plating Display
If you just refrigerate salads, fresh fruit, desserts, and so on, which do not need to be heated, then PET's high transparency advantage is very practical. But be sure to tell your customers that it is not to be put in the microwave!
Try PLA or Pulp Material for an Eco-Friendly Route
Some customers are eco-friendly brands, looking for biodegradable microwavable take-out food containers. This time, we can recommend PLA or pulp boxes with film. But remind them that it's best to choose products that have been tested at high temperatures and have certifications, especially when used heated.
Certified for Peace of Mind
Certifications like FDA and LFGB are actually the most important safeguards for customers. Plus, heat test reports, such as “no deformation when heated to 100°C”, are more likely to put customers at ease when placing orders.

2. 5 Common Materials Heat-Resistant Comparison: Which Is the Most Reliable, And Which Should Be Avoided in Lightning?
Now on the market is quite a variety of lunch boxes, and the material is not the same. Here we look at the advantages and disadvantages of these materials one by one, especially if they can be microwaved in the end.
PP (Polypropylene): The First Choice for Heating, Rest Assured to Use
PP is to do microwavable take out food containers the most common material, heat-resistant ability that is very strong, generally can carry up to 120 ℃, some even up to 130 ℃. Microwave heating is no problem. And the PP box is not easy to deform; the structure is also strong, cost-effective. The disadvantage is that the appearance of transparency is not high, and it is not environmentally friendly materials. But to say that microwave heating is safe, PP is basically the first choice.
PET: Look Beautiful, Do Not Heat
PET is commonly used in transparent fruit boxes, salad boxes, and other cold food packaging. Its biggest advantage is transparent, looks clean, and is high-end. But the heating capacity is very poor, only up to 65 ℃, and putting it into the microwave oven is very easy to deform, and may even melt. So, PET Chinese take-out food containers are basically “pseudo” microwave food containers. Don't look at it; if you use it wrongly, you will be in trouble.
PS: Cheap but not Temperature Resistant, don't Use It in the Microwave
The advantage of PS is that it is cheap; many disposable fast food restaurants use it. But it is really not heat-resistant, up to 70 ° C, and then high on the easy to breaking, deformation, and may even release some harmful substances to the human body. If only loaded with cold food or room temperature is okay, but to microwave heating, PS lunch box, please bypass, do not take health jokes.
PLA: Environmental Protection Is Its Strong Point, But Heat Resistance Is Too Bad
PLA is a kind of biodegradable material, which many of the main “environmental takeout” stores use. It looks quite lofty, touch is also good. But it has poor heat resistance, 60 ℃ or so begins to soften, and in the microwave oven is easy to collapse. Although it is an environmentally friendly material, it is not suitable for microwavable take-out food containers in the true sense of the word, unless with a special heat-resistant coating, or do not use it for heating.
Pulp Molded Food Containers: Environmentally Friendly + Microwaveable, But It Depends on Whether There Is a Membrane
This material sounds strange, but in fact, airplane lunch boxes are often used. It is pressed out of pulp, plus a heat-resistant film, which can withstand temperatures of about 90 ℃. If the film quality is good, used for the microwave problem. But if the film is not heat-resistant, then it is not very good. Therefore, it is better to check whether it is labeled “microwavable” before use. As environmentally friendly microwavable take-out food containers, it has potential.
4. The Use of Precautions: Not All Lunch Boxes Can Be Messy Microwave Oven
It's hard to pick a good lunchbox; if you use it in the wrong way, it will also cause problems. Especially in microwave heating, some small details must remind customers' attention.
The Box Can Be Heated, But the Lid Is Not Necessarily Ok
Sometimes the body of the lunch box is PP, but the lid is made of PE or PS. This kind of lid is easy to deform, bulge, and even lose color after heating. So it is better to lift the lid a little bit before microwaving, or simply do not cover.
The Data Should Be Real; There Are Test Reports More Convincing
Customers are getting smarter and smarter; it's useless to talk without practicing. Providing before and after heating real pictures, video, or heat distortion test reports, can greatly increase customer trust, so that they are more willing to order.
The Product Description Should Be Clearly Written
For example, “suitable for heating up to 100 ℃, do not recommend high-fire microwave for a long time” such instructions, to be placed in the packaging or the official website in a conspicuous position, or if customers misuse, the problem is still looking for you.
Teaching Customers How to Use Is Also a Kind of Service
Many customers actually do not know what material can be heated, or how to heat it. You can write clearly in the product manual or e-commerce page on the material, the use of the recommendations, but also incidentally improve customer satisfaction, reduce bad reviews.
